Correlation of Apo E Gene Polymorphism with Recurrent Acute Coronary Syndrome

چکیده

Background: Recurrent cardiovascular disease (CVD) incidence puts patients at higher risk for mortality and morbidity. One of the CVD symptoms is acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Many genetic polymorphisms are factors. This study’s purpose was to investigate correlation between recurrent ACS apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene polymorphism. Method: Case-control design used in this study. About 90 who visited cardiology internal medicine clinics UNAIR Hospital Surabaya, Indonesia, served as study's subjects. There were 30 with ACS, a single no history disease. Afterward, using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length method, ApoE polymorphism examination carried out. The Tropical Disease Center Laboratory conducted all laboratory testing. Results: In group, genotype patterns 5 subjects ε2ε2 (16.67%), 23 ε3ε3 (76.66%), 2 ε4ε4 (6.67%). Meanwhile, 6 (20%), 22 (73.4%), 1 subject (3.33%), ε2ε3 (3.33%). And, non- were4 (13.34%), 25 (83.33%), and1 by Chi-square analysis (p > 0.05). Conclusion: cannot significantly affect incidence.

Review: Apolipoprotein E (Apo E) gene polymorphism and coronary heart disease in Asian populations.

Apolipoprotein E (Apo E) is a basic component of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It plays an important role in the clearance of cholesterol from circulation, and thereby slows down the process of atherosclerosis. Its 3 isoforms, E2, E3 and E4 are encoded by 3 alleles, e2, e3 and e4, respectively. E3 is the most common isoform in most populations in the wo...

Study of the correlation between ACE gene polymorphism and coronary artery disease

Introduction: Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) is an exopeptidase that converts Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor and releases aldosterone, and have a critical role in hypertension. In this study, ACE insertion / deletion (I/D) polymorphism and ACE activity was determined in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and normal subjects. The corr...

MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism and the severity of coronary lesions in acute coronary syndrome

The association between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism, circulating levels of homocysteine (Hcy), and the severity of coronary lesion in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) remains unknown.Consecutive ACS patients were included. MTHFR C677T polymorphisms were determined via amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-PCR). Gen...
